Healthcare Billing Operations Lead

Location: New York City; based in NYC with in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year plus equity

hirify.global is a seed-stage healthcare technology company building an AI-native patient financial platform that helps consumers identify billing errors, challenge claim denials, secure financial assistance, and negotiate medical bills.

What you will do

• Review uploaded medical bills and determine whether they are reducible, how they can be lowered, and what evidence is required.
• Own negotiation quality across healthcare advocate and AI-agent casework through weekly QA, escalation handling, and performance analysis.
• Serve as the escalation point for VIP, high-complexity, and specialized cases.
• Build advocacy playbooks, onboarding materials, training programs, and workflows in GrantCentral.
• Partner with Product as the healthcare domain owner for the AI bill analyzer and ensure new features include appropriate advocate training.
• Publish weekly reports and turn user and advocate pain points into product input.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in health system revenue cycle, patient financial services, or payer operations.
• Strong knowledge of medical billing, including CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, EOBs, denials and appeals, financial assistance policies, No Surprises Act rules, and self-pay discounts.
• Hands-on experience negotiating with providers or payers and achieving lower payment amounts.
• Ability to translate healthcare judgment into clear rules for engineers and usable guidance for advocates.
• Experience creating training, playbooks, or QA programs.
• Must be based in NYC and work from the office Monday through Thursday.

Nice to have

• Experience on both provider and payer sides of medical billing.
• Partnership experience with Product or Engineering on healthcare tooling or automation.
• Hands-on experience with AI or agentic tools in billing, clinical, or operations settings.
• Early-stage startup experience or experience building a new function inside a large healthcare system.
