Health & Safety Program Manager (Biotechnology)

Location: On-site at one of the following U.S. locations: Coralville, IA; Boulder, CO; Raleigh, NC; Madison, WI; San Diego, CA; or Fargo, ND. Travel up to 10%, including overnight stays.

Annual salary: $91,000–$100,000, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Manage health and safety programs across U.S. and international sites in collaboration with the Environment, Health & Safety team.
• Develop and maintain programs covering injury and illness reporting, hazard communication, respiratory protection, hazardous energy, chemical handling and storage, biological safety, fire prevention, and ergonomics.
• Identify, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate health and safety compliance risks.
• Assess site safety performance, establish targets, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop standards, automate approvals, and maintain critical system safety and chemical compliance processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in health and safety program management; 5+ years preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety frameworks.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site at one of the listed U.S. locations and travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience with ergonomics and industrial hygiene programs.
• Familiarity with global health and safety audits and compliance tools.
