Senior Software Engineer (Automotive Embedded)

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States. Hybrid work policy: 3 days in-office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Design and lead embedded programming and bootloader software for microcontroller-based automotive ECUs.
• Translate system-level infrastructure and security requirements into detailed designs and integration plans.
• Integrate and configure vendor bootloader and basic software components into infrastructure builds.
• Develop flash programming flows, secure boot, and software update and rollback mechanisms.
• Analyze and debug programming and boot issues across microcontroller hardware, security modules, and communication stacks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Five years of experience as a Software Engineer, Product Engineer, or in a related occupation.
• Five years of experience developing embedded C and C++ for microcontroller-based systems.
• Five years of experience with CAN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS, and XCP.
• Three years of experience with bootloader and ECU programming software, including flash erase/write flows, memory layout, and software update and recovery.
• Three years of experience with Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, hardware debuggers, emulators, and logic or trace tools.
