TL;DR
Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment): Providing onsite installation, repair, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting for complex Cymer laser systems at customer sites with an accent on opto-mechanical systems, electronics, cleanroom operations, and customer support. Focus on diagnosing equipment failures, supporting installations and preventive maintenance, and working rotating 12-hour day and night shifts in confined and technically demanding environments.

Location: Leixlip, Ireland; onsite field service support at customer sites. The role includes rotating 12-hour day and night shifts on a 3-4-4-3 compressed work week, with day-shift training for 3–6 months. Periodic regional and overseas travel may be required.

hirify.global develops and manufactures semiconductor lithography systems and Cymer DUV and EUV laser light sources used in chip production.

What you will do

  • Install, repair, retrofit, upgrade, and perform preventive maintenance on Cymer equipment at customer sites.
  • Analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug complex laser and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Support customers with equipment receipt, installation, testing, operation, and maintenance.
  • Maintain assigned equipment installations, forecast service needs, and coordinate customer support communications.
  • Ensure required parts and tools are available and complete service and expense documentation.
  • Provide technical support at regional and overseas sites and backfill other field service engineers when required.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of field service engineering or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting at module and system level.
  • Ability to read and analyze opto-mechanical and electronic schematics, with knowledge of protocols and computer networking.
  • English communication skills are required for customer and technical support activities.
  • Ability to meet customer site access requirements, including background checks, safety training, cleanroom access, gowning, and use of breathing apparatus.

Nice to have

  • At least 1 year of experience with optics, lasers, or semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Laser and vacuum experience.
  • Associate degree or higher, or comparable military or vocational experience.
  • Experience leading an installation or contributing significantly to installations across multiple sites.
  • Experience with LabView and Microsoft Office applications.
