Application Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: United States; Maplewood, Minnesota. Remote work may be available for candidates located more than 50 miles from hirify.global Global Headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota. Candidates within commuting distance must work onsite at least 4 days per week. Travel may include up to 25% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $145,676–$178,049, including base pay and variable incentive pay where eligible.

What you will do

• Build technical relationships with defense primes, subsystem suppliers, platform integrators, government laboratories, and Department of Defense organizations.
• Partner with customers to understand mission and platform requirements and identify applications for hirify.global technologies in survivability, thermal management, EMI management, structural bonding, and electronics materials.
• Lead technical engagement activities supporting product specification, qualification, adoption, testing, demonstrations, and implementation.
• Translate customer application needs into product requirements and development opportunities.
• Manage a pipeline of growth opportunities across strategic defense accounts, including emerging mission needs, modernization priorities, and technology trends.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Platforms, Manufacturing, and Corporate Research to commercialize solutions and influence future product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in application engineering, product development, new product commercialization, or translating customer needs into technical product performance criteria.
• Experience may come from private, public, government, or military environments.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Ability to provide technical consultation, training, application support, and customer-facing guidance.
• Ability to navigate complex problems and identify innovative solutions.

Nice to have

• Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree with an electronics focus.
• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a science or engineering discipline.
• 10 years of relevant application engineering, product development, commercialization, or technical customer-translation experience.
• Experience as a Materials & Processes, Materials, Systems, Design, or Manufacturing Engineer supporting flight hardware development.
• Defense and aerospace materials, technologies, processes, specifications, qualification, and verification knowledge.
