Patient Access Associate Specialist - Part time (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Adena - Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, process physician orders, and provide patient instructions.
• Verify insurance eligibility, enter benefit data, support point-of-service collections, and contribute to clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other required forms; obtain signatures and document distributions.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute required notices.
• Conduct account audits, maintain accurate records, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-supported process improvement.
• CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Must be able to work onsite in Waverly, Ohio.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
