Medical Assistant-Ortho Part Time Days

Location: 1000 N. Westmoreland, Lake Forest, IL; orthopedic locations also include Grayslake, Gurnee, Glenview, and Evanston. Onsite, part-time schedule: Monday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Wednesday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, and Thursday 1:00 PM–5:00 PM.

Salary: USD 19.13–25.83 per hour

What you will do

• Support physicians, nurses, and licensed medical staff with patient flow and clinic operations.
• Escort and identify patients, prepare them for examinations, obtain vital signs, and update medical information.
• Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, procedure trays, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, stock, and maintain exam rooms, equipment, instruments, medications, and vaccines.
• Communicate professionally with patients and care teams while maintaining confidentiality and patient satisfaction.
• Perform delegated orthopedic procedures and other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current eligible Medical Assistant certification or documentation of eligibility for an AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NRCMA certification exam.
• Medical Assistant certification must be attained within the first six months of employment, with up to two test attempts.
• American Heart Association-accredited BLS/CPR certification.
• Zero to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and electronic medical record experience are preferred.
