Medical Assistant (Primary Care)

Location: Huntley, Illinois, United States; onsite at the Huntley primary care clinic. Casual part-time coverage is scheduled as needed for vacation and sick leave. Clinic operations run Monday through Saturday, with eight-hour weekday shifts and Saturday shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Salary: $19.13–$25.83 per hour

What you will do

• Support efficient patient flow by escorting patients, verifying identifiers, recording vital signs, updating medical information, and preparing examination rooms.
• Assist practitioners with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection, procedure trays, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Disinfect and sterilize equipment, maintain exam-room supplies, manage vaccine and medication inventory, and monitor clinical equipment.
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, nurses, and other members of the care team in person and by phone.
• Perform delegated procedures safely and efficiently according to primary care protocols and complete assigned administrative duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current eligible medical assistant certification or documentation confirming eligibility for an AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NRCMA certification exam.
• Certification as a CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA must be completed within the first six months of employment.
• American Heart Association-accredited BLS/CPR certification.
• Zero to two years of experience in a relevant role and strong computer skills.
• Ability to work onsite at the Huntley clinic and provide as-needed coverage during clinic operating hours.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
