Health Unit Coordinator-Medical-ICU Part-Time Days

Location: 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States; onsite medical ICU role

Salary: USD 17.05–25.58 per hour

What you will do

• Perform unit reception, patient registration, clerical coordination, and medical record functions.
• Coordinate unit workflow with the charge nurse, assistant manager, physicians, and related departments.
• Retrieve laboratory results, enter and verify orders, and support timely delivery of medications, supplies, and diagnostic services.
• Prepare, maintain, assemble, and forward patient charts for admissions and discharges.
• Manage census lists, patient status updates, telephone screenings, supply orders, forms, and unit communication systems.
• Provide clear information, directions, reassurance, and service recovery support to patients, families, and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and competence with order entry, results, documentation, and policies.
• Effective spoken and written English communication is required.
• Ability to assess when an interpreter is needed and use interpreter services effectively.
• Excellent customer service, organization, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to remain flexible and effective under stressful conditions while handling multiple time-sensitive tasks.

Nice to have

• One year of experience in a pertinent clinical specialty.
