Medical Assistant-Neurology Part Time Days

Location: Onsite at the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff campuses in Illinois, with occasional coverage at Grayslake and Glenview sites. Part-time schedule: Tuesday 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., Wednesday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Thursday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; 20 hours per week.

Salary: $19.13–$25.83 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, update medical information, and support efficient patient flow.
• Assist physicians and nurses with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection, CLIA-waived testing, and other specialty procedures.
• Prepare, clean, disinfect, and sterilize exam rooms, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintain vaccine, medication, equipment, and supply inventories and follow opening and closing procedures.
• Communicate professionally with patients and clinical staff while protecting patient confidentiality.
• Perform delegated neurology clinic procedures and other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current eligible Medical Assistant certification or documentation proving eligibility to sit for an approved certification exam; certification must be completed within six months of employment.
• American Heart Association-accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.
• Ability to complete required clinical procedures safely and follow healthcare, regulatory, and confidentiality standards.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
