Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection (Property Insurance)

Location: Fountain, Colorado, United States. This is a remote-field position requiring work from home plus recurring in-person property inspections throughout the assigned territory. Occasional travel outside the territory, flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours may be required.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess damage for residential, commercial, and large-loss property claims.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Gather evidence, document findings, prepare detailed reports, and use mobile and desktop tools to support claims.
• Evaluate coverage, policy terms, regulations, and claim validity.
• Explain coverage and the claims process to policyholders while collaborating with agents and other stakeholders.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits while providing professional customer service during difficult conversations.

Requirements

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret detailed policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding inspections, including walking, climbing ladders, traversing roofs, lifting, kneeling, squatting, and crawling in tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability and willingness to complete required training, licensing examinations, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and possible rope and harness safety training.
• Must reside within the listed Fountain-area service territory and be able to travel for field appointments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of property insurance and claim handling.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction, building materials, water mitigation, and inspection processes.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
