Complex Loss Specialist (Allied Health)

Location: Remote United States. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Annual salary: $87,000–$109,000 USD.

What you will do

• Adjust complex, time-intensive, and high-exposure allied health claims.
• Investigate losses, secure statements and documentation, and maintain detailed claim files.
• Analyze coverage, resolve coverage questions, and draft reservation of rights and denial communications for review.
• Evaluate liability, set or recommend reserves, and exercise settlement authority within assigned limits.
• Assign and direct defense counsel, independent adjusters, medical examiners, and expert witnesses.
• Prepare reports and roundtable presentations and provide claim updates to insureds, claimants, underwriters, carriers, and leadership.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of claims experience, with an emphasis on complex allied health claims.
• College degree or equivalent claims management experience.
• Active individual adjuster license under the candidate's name for a designated home state, with willingness to obtain additional licenses as needed.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare liability claims, including medical malpractice, general liability, and professional liability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• At least 10 years of litigation management experience.
• Experience reviewing medical records across physical therapy, home health, diagnostics, and behavioral health.
