Senior Analyst (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end reconciliation and reporting workstreams across card networks, banks, processors, acquirers, and internal ledger data.
• Design and deploy matching logic, exception queues, break dashboards, settlement summaries, standardized journals, and automated SQL reporting.
• Manage discrepancies from detection through root-cause analysis, corrective action, and control improvement.
• Define metrics for match rates, break aging, resolution time, funding compliance, and reporting SLAs.
• Build, validate, troubleshoot, and maintain datasets and pipelines with Data Engineering partners.
• Support month-end close, audits, regulatory reporting, system testing, stakeholder decisions, and analyst mentoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, accounting, or finance analytics with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience; 3+ years with a master's degree.
• Expert-level SQL and experience designing, developing, and documenting automated reporting.
• End-to-end ownership of reconciliation, settlement, or financial reporting workstreams.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry concepts, money movement, and financial data controls.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines and making technical trade-offs with Data Engineering.
• Advanced Excel skills, reconciliation tooling experience, banking portal experience, and strong stakeholder communication.

Nice to have

• Card-network reconciliation and settlement experience with Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Discover.
• Knowledge of ACH, wire, SWIFT, RTP/FedNow, and the payments ecosystem.
• Python or similar scripting skills for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker, Tableau, audits, internal controls, or SOX-adjacent processes.
• Experience with interchange, fee reconciliation, revenue-leakage detection, tax reporting, or mentoring junior analysts.
