Electrical Design Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in Sunnyvale, California, with options to be located in San Francisco, Denver, or Dallas. Travel is expected to be approximately 25%.

Salary: $195,000–$225,000 per year, plus bonus and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Advance electrical designs for large-scale data center campuses from conceptual sketches to construction-ready documentation.
• Design and specify critical power equipment, including transformers, LV/MV switchgear, UPS systems, switchboards, cabling, busway, panels, and protection and control systems.
• Perform short-circuit, protection, arc-flash, load-flow, harmonics, and dynamic transient analysis studies.
• Review consultant drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for compliance with the project Basis of Design.
• Support field engineering during construction by resolving RFIs, reviewing submittals, and providing design clarifications.
• Participate in factory witness testing for engineered and complex electrical equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering design experience, preferably focused on data centers or mission-critical industrial facilities.
• Expert knowledge of the National Electrical Code and relevant NFPA and IEEE standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, and SKM.
• Experience taking complex electrical designs from schematic development through construction execution.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with mechanical, real estate, power engineering, construction, and design teams.

Nice to have

• Active Professional Engineer license.
• Experience with alternative energy inputs and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA and Emergency Power Monitoring Systems.
• Mega-project field construction experience for data centers or similar mission-critical facilities.
• Experience working with hyperscale clients in a fast-paced design-build environment.
