Electrical Engineer (Building Engineering)

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; on-site

Salary: $50,000–$75,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop electrical engineering concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports for building projects.
• Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform lighting calculations, power distribution design, circuit and feeder calculations, and arc flash studies.
• Design power, telecommunications, security, and other building systems layouts.
• Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and other disciplines through design and construction administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Interest in building systems and willingness to develop technical knowledge.
• Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
• Professional communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Rochester, New York.

Nice to have

• EIT certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Experience in the architecture and engineering consulting business.
