Location: Remote, limited to candidates currently residing in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada. Listed hiring locations include Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, Phoenix, and Tampa.

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 base salary annually, plus potential equity.

What you will do

  • Lead investigations and de-escalation for critical customer complaints and complex escalations.
  • Manage state Department of Insurance complaint workflows, carrier audits, and official regulatory correspondence.
  • Maintain the complaint log, compliance controls, audit-ready records, and statutory deadline processes.
  • Partner with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Operations to convert complaint trends and audit findings into product and process improvements.
  • Act as the operational liaison for carrier partners during claims investigations, regulatory inquiries, and information audits.
  • Provide quality oversight, coaching, and subject-matter guidance to customer service, compliance, and claims-support teams.

Requirements

  • Active Property & Casualty license required, or willingness to obtain it quickly.
  • 5+ years of insurance experience, including 3+ years in state insurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing state regulatory inquiries, DOI complaints, and carrier audit relationships.
  • Working knowledge of NAIC model regulations, state insurance codes, and market conduct examination standards.
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills with strong legal and compliance attention to detail.
  • Analytical and cross-functional leadership experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent practical leadership experience.

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of team lead, managerial, or supervisory experience.
