Global Category Manager II (Transportation Sourcing)

Location: Hybrid role in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus and work onsite several times per week. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs.

Salary: $6,854.33–$11,309.65 per month.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise-wide category management strategies covering strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, diversity, and risk management.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for complex categories using the hirify.global sourcing methodology.
• Evaluate spend data, conduct benchmarking, and recommend sourcing approaches and supplier scorecard criteria.
• Build category expertise and collaborate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, Finance, and Legal.
• Lead complex cross-functional projects and negotiate agreements with significant corporate impact.
• Interact with executives and represent category management with senior-level authority.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics, business analysis, strategic management, marketing, or another quantitative discipline.
• At least four years of experience in sourcing, financial analysis, or a related field; a related advanced degree may offset part of the experience requirement.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, oral communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of current technology tools, databases, analytical tools, market trends, market dynamics, and category or product lifecycles.
• Experience with cost analysis and applying financial data to complex business decisions.
• Ability to work from within 50 miles of the Pittsburgh campus and attend the campus several times per week.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing and managing categories for transportation services, including FTL, rail, intermodal, LTL, and first- and last-mile delivery.
• Proficiency with Coupa and Power BI Dashboard.
• Experience with supplier diversity, risk, sustainability, Quality Driven Management, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management programs.
