Shift Supervisor-1 (Power Generation)

Location: Preston, Connecticut, USA; onsite at a heavy industrial power-generation and resource-recovery facility. Rotating day and night shifts are required, including weekends, holidays, outage periods, overtime, and vacation coverage.

Salary: $108,900–$155,600 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations during an assigned shift.
• Supervise high-pressure boilers, turbines, steam-generation systems, electric-generating equipment, instrumentation, control systems, and supporting equipment.
• Conduct plant rounds, monitor operating conditions, and respond to injuries, equipment failures, emergencies, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Approve equipment clearances, lockout/tagout procedures, and safety permits while coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Improve facility reliability, operating efficiency, equipment availability, and environmental performance.
• Train, mentor, and develop shift personnel and lead projects assigned by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• Three or more years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers and electric-generating equipment.
• Detailed knowledge of steam-generating power plant operations, instrumentation, and control systems.
• High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, outage periods, overtime, and vacation coverage.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, and wear a full-face respirator.

• Power-generation or resource-recovery experience.
