Associate Engineer Grid Operations Technology

Location: Hybrid role based in Windsor, Connecticut, United States. Occasional travel throughout the service territory may be required, and support for control room operators may include weekends and off-hours.

Annual salary: $82,800–$92,000, plus potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Support electric system operators by optimizing distribution networks through DMS advanced functions, including AFR, LVM, planned outage studies, and DER/load forecasting.
• Develop expertise in ADMS, SCADA, DER dispatching, energy storage, microgrids, Volt/VAR optimization, and load shedding.
• Specify, configure, and enhance DMS applications such as FLISR, LVM, AFR, and load and generation scheduling.
• Collaborate with control centers, IT, engineering, operations, vendors, and other stakeholders on grid operations technology programs.
• Evaluate technology options and support competitive procurement, project planning, implementation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop tools and methods for processing data and designing and verifying engineering models and databases.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Power Systems coursework or experience is preferred.
• Ability to solve complex problems, work independently, analyze and organize information, and manage multiple activities under deadlines.
• Strong technical writing, planning, coordination, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
