Lead IT Project Manager (AI)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; travel between sites may be required.

Salary: CAD 92,320–138,480 per year, depending on education, experience, skills, geographic location, and internal and external market alignment.

What you will do

• Lead complex IT projects from initiation through closure, delivering against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business outcomes.
• Translate business priorities into project charters, delivery plans, milestones, governance structures, and execution roadmaps.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, delivery partners, sponsors, architects, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
• Manage integrated plans covering timelines, dependencies, resources, financial tracking, risks, issues, decisions, and delivery constraints.
• Apply PMO governance, change control, benefits realization, compliance practices, and decision-focused reporting.
• Improve project delivery through mentoring, PMO process enhancements, and responsible use of AI-enabled tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• At least 8 years of progressive project management experience, preferably with complex cross-functional IT projects in a matrixed enterprise environment.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, dependencies, risks, competing priorities, and large or complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of project lifecycle management, governance, change control, risk and issue management, financial tracking, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Working knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery approaches; PMP is strongly preferred, while PgMP, PMI-ACP, ITIL, or equivalent certifications are assets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, project planning tools, PPM and reporting platforms, and collaboration technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with PMI, PRINCE2, ITIL, or equivalent project management methodologies.
• Interest in learning and applying AI-enabled tools for planning, reporting, risk visibility, project controls, and delivery outcomes.
