Location: Decatur, Texas, United States; onsite role at the Decatur facility

What you will do

• Perform routine and specialized materials testing for short- and medium-term projects and analytical requests.
• Provide materials characterization and testing expertise for product development, quality improvement, and customer needs.
• Develop test methods and laboratory processes as required.
• Assist research scientists with product development activities and investigate root causes of product and quality issues.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Commercial teams, technicians, customers, and research scientists.
• Analyze samples and prepare technical reports and presentations while completing laboratory work safely.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in materials science or a related field.
• Familiarity with laboratory environments, procedures, and methods.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication, coordination, presentation, and data-analysis skills.
• Ability to follow approved safety procedures and communicate potential hazards.
• Capacity to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience or understanding of carbon, graphite, and ceramic materials.
• Experience with SEM, EDS, optical microscopy, thermal analysis, XRD, Raman, or physical properties testing.
• Computer skills in data analysis, word processing, and image processing.
