Research Technician (Carbon Materials)

Location: North Charleston, South Carolina, United States; onsite laboratory and manufacturing-site work with up to 20% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Support the Product and Process Development team in developing carbon-material products and manufacturing processes.
• Help plan and conduct bench-scale and pilot-scale experiments.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory and pilot-scale equipment.
• Participate in plant trials, process improvement efforts, and manufacturing-facility expansion projects.
• Generate, organize, and document experimental data and results.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized working environment while collaborating with operations and business development.

Requirements

• Five years of experience in a pilot-scale laboratory or manufacturing environment; a technical associate’s or bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Experience operating, maintaining, calibrating, verifying, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Experience with mechanical work and pilot-scale equipment, including following protocols, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, organization, reporting, analytical skills, and time management.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work respectfully within diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
