Senior Construction Oversight Manager, ANS (Transit)

Location: Chicago, IL. Hybrid work includes remote work, onsite work at a client location, and work in an hirify.global office or center.

What you will do

• Provide constructability, phasing, logistics, and operations interface recommendations during project planning and design.
• Develop contractor documents, procurement scopes, evaluation criteria, and construction effort estimates.
• Identify and mitigate risks, prepare rough order of magnitude construction costs, and support change management.
• Oversee construction management contracts and coordinate activities among transit operations, infrastructure teams, and contractors.
• Support quality assurance, construction progress meetings, schedule resolution, and issue resolution across capital programs.
• Lead or support program enhancements involving construction look-aheads, right-of-way flagging, bidding, procurements, and specification updates.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of project management and/or construction management experience.
• Experience with large, transit-related public agency construction programs.
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or another construction-related engineering discipline.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, complete accurate deliverables, and meet deadlines under tight timeframes.
• Strong verbal and written communication and active listening skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with transit projects.
• Expert understanding of construction industry processes and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management information software.
