Quality Weld Inspector (Weld & Fabrication)

Location: On-site manufacturing floor; first shift from 5:00am to 1:30pm. The posting includes US-specific employment requirements, including E-Verify participation.

Salary: $28.50–$30.25 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform pre-weld, in-process, final visual, and dimensional inspections of welded and fabricated products.
• Verify fit-up, joint preparation, weld locations, weld sizes, dimensions, tolerances, and compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Inspect welds for defects including cracks, porosity, undercut, overlap, incomplete welds, arc strikes, and excessive reinforcement.
• Use calibrated calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, squares, tape measures, fixtures, and other inspection equipment.
• Document, tag, segregate, and contain nonconforming materials; verify repairs and rework before product release.
• Support root-cause investigations, corrective actions, audits, and continuous improvement with Production, Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or manufacturing education is preferred.
• Previous quality inspection experience in welding, metal fabrication, machining, or manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, tolerances, and welding symbols and follow Welding Procedure Specifications.
• Working knowledge of welding and fabrication processes, with experience using dimensional and weld inspection equipment.
• Ability to document inspection results and nonconformances accurately, with strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice to have

• Experience inspecting MIG, TIG, and other welding processes.
• AWS and/or ASME welding knowledge.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification or equivalent training.
• Experience with Visual Testing, Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, or Ultrasonic Testing.
• Experience with NCR/NCMR systems, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, Lean Manufacturing, or World-Class Manufacturing practices.
