Roadway Design Engineer (Transportation)

Location: Houston, Texas; hybrid work between an office and field environment

What you will do

• Prepare and review roadway and multimodal design plans, calculations, and technical reports.
• Apply engineering standards and codes to ensure accurate, compliant designs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
• Perform design analyses, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs for assigned project components.
• Support quality assurance reviews and respond to design review comments and field questions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–10+ years of transportation engineering experience with TxDOT projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in MicroStation ORD, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Ability to work in office and field environments, including occasional exposure to weather, noise, hazards, and bodies of water.
• Ability to occasionally operate a company vehicle and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.

• Proposal writing and marketing experience.
