Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; U.S. citizenship required.

Base salary: $192K–$281K per year. Estimated total compensation: $281K–$455K, including target bonus and estimated equity value.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate AWS-based infrastructure for single-tenant and multi-tenant environments.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and deployment automation with Ansible or similar tools.
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines and environment automation.
• Design observability systems covering metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting.
• Partner with application and backend teams on architecture, performance, reliability, and operational readiness.
• Contribute to IAM, network security, secrets management, security scanning, system documentation, and runbooks.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; no active security clearance is required.
• Experience administering AWS infrastructure and operating production applications.
• Experience managing single-tenant and multi-tenant systems with Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, network security, PKI, TLS, certificate authorities, and mTLS.
• Experience with deployment automation, CI/CD platforms, reliability engineering, distributed systems, and production observability.
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language, plus experience with PostgreSQL, messaging systems, secrets management, and security scanning.

Nice to have

• Experience or strong interest in cybersecurity, threat modeling, infrastructure hardening, and secure defaults.
• Experience working with large datasets and managing graph databases such as Neo4j or AWS Neptune.
• Experience creating runbooks and platform documentation for non-infrastructure teams.
