Associate Counsel (Fintech)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office; travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $152,900–$237,000 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Provide practical legal advice for consulting, analytics, implementation, and managed service offerings.
• Structure, draft, review, and negotiate consulting agreements, statements of work, data agreements, pilot arrangements, and strategic client engagements.
• Advise on commercial, product, privacy, intellectual property, data use, and regulatory matters.
• Support the development and launch of new offerings and strategic growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with Privacy, Data Policy, Compliance, Regulatory Legal, Product Legal, Finance, and Risk functions.
• Develop scalable legal processes, templates, playbooks, and training materials while monitoring relevant legal and regulatory developments.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 2 years of relevant legal experience; 3–6 years preferred.
• Current membership in good standing of a State Bar, with the ability to become barred or register as in-house counsel in the state where the role is located.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong judgment, analytical, communication, negotiation, client counseling, project management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.

• Experience with technology, data, consulting, SaaS, fintech, payments, or other commercial transactions.
• Experience working with financial services, data analytics, artificial intelligence, or technology-driven businesses.
• Experience working with cross-functional and global teams.
