Associate Specialist Property Risk Engineering

Location: Independence, Ohio, United States. The role requires a consistent field presence, with approximately 20%–50% of time spent with customers onsite or virtually, plus regional travel that may include overnight and multi-night trips.

Annual base salary: $85,600–$141,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Evaluate customer properties to identify exposures, hazards, loss controls, and risk management opportunities.
• Consult with customers and educate them on recommended risk improvements.
• Share risk findings with underwriting to support effective risk pricing.
• Study technical resources and apply developing property risk engineering expertise during customer surveys.
• Research emerging issues and claims-related loss trends to support training programs for field consultants.
• Support underwriting and claim execution processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, or engineering technology discipline.
• Three or more years of experience in engineering or fire protection.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical information.
• Interpersonal, influencing, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to travel regionally, including possible overnight and multi-night trips.
