Associate - Process Safety Consultant

Location: Columbia, Maryland, United States; primarily in-office with some hybrid/remote work possible. Candidates may also be considered for offices throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Travel up to 30% may be required depending on client needs.

Salary: $60,000–$100,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Manage assigned tasks independently and contribute to consulting projects addressing complex client needs.
• Review and interpret technical documentation, procedures, specifications, drawings, regulations, and standards.
• Conduct research, testing, modeling, engineering analysis, and other technical work under project manager guidance.
• Assess safety, health, and environmental risks related to chemicals, materials, production processes, and engineering designs.
• Prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other deliverables that communicate findings and recommendations.
• Communicate with managers, colleagues, and clients while developing practical solutions to unique challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related science or engineering field.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, demonstrated through interviews and writing samples.
• Ability to travel up to 30% based on client needs.
• Passion for continuous learning, client service, and improving safety, security, and resilience.
