TL;DR
Process Engineer (Semiconductors): Improving thermistor manufacturing and product testing through automated test stations, reliability qualification, failure analysis, and process optimization with an accent on SPC, data-driven improvement, and production equipment. Focus on developing manufacturing processes, resolving complex equipment and quality issues, and supporting new product introduction and production ramp-up.

Location: On-site in Carson City, Nevada, United States. The role requires hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor, regular interaction with production equipment and laboratories, and may include occasional travel, extended hours, or schedule flexibility.

What you will do

  • Develop and improve automated test stations, data acquisition, reporting, and product characterization using LabVIEW and Python.
  • Strengthen life testing, validation methods, qualification plans, calibration processes, and test documentation.
  • Investigate customer returns and internal electrical anomalies, identify root causes, and verify corrective actions.
  • Support prototypes, sensor applications, circuit interfaces, signal conditioning, PCB work, EMI/EMC, and signal-integrity projects.
  • Create test procedures, design-review checklists, troubleshooting methods, and training for engineers and technicians.
  • Collaborate with Quality, R&D, Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, Production, customers, and hirify.global technical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, preferably in electronics, semiconductors, ceramics, sensors, thermistors, or precision component manufacturing.
  • Experience developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes and production equipment.
  • Knowledge of process control, statistical process control, capability analysis, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with process specifications, work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, yield improvement, scrap reduction, cycle-time improvement, and process capability.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable ITAR/EAR requirements, including U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee status.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, process qualification, and production ramp-up.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC, signal integrity, grounding, and demanding operating environments.
