TL;DR
Manufacturing Quality Engineer (Automation/Quality Systems): Investigating electromechanical manufacturing failures, supporting automated test fixtures, and improving production quality and line efficiency with an accent on root-cause analysis, SPC, Six Sigma, PFMEA, and ISO 9001 compliance. Focus on analyzing production data, defining acceptance criteria, optimizing test cycle times, and collaborating on new product introductions.

Location: On-site in Spanish Fork, United States; must be authorized to work in the U.S.

What you will do

  • Investigate recurring electromechanical component and assembly failures using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other root-cause methods.
  • Support the design, development, and deployment of automated test fixtures and equipment using Python, PLCs, and related tools.
  • Create and maintain PFMEA documentation, testing protocols, and acceptance criteria across production lines.
  • Monitor yield, defect Pareto metrics, and operational trends, turning production data into reports for Quality and Operations leadership.
  • Evaluate testing procedures and cycle times to identify bottlenecks and improve first-pass yield.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Hardware Design on quality handoffs and new product introductions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–5 years of manufacturing experience with automated test equipment and quality systems.
  • Experience with SPC, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, plus PLC programming or Python scripting.
  • Understanding of electrical circuits, wiring harnesses, mechanical assemblies, diagnostic tools, ISO 9001, and formal QMS frameworks.
  • Ability to work on-site on an active manufacturing floor, move throughout the facility, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; U.S. work authorization is required.
