Senior Software Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Develop learning methods for spatial reasoning, sequential decision-making, and robotic manipulation.
• Combine learned policies, predictive models, planning, and optimization for physically constrained tasks.
• Design training and evaluation workflows measuring task success, robustness, and execution efficiency.
• Prototype solutions, build demonstrations, and use simulation environments to develop and test manipulation behaviors.
• Transition successful prototypes to product teams and identify high-impact improvements for robotic systems.
• Collaborate with research partners, communicate technical priorities, and mentor junior engineers or interns.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of software development experience focused on robotic manipulation or related areas.
• Strong Python and C++ development skills.
• Experience with PyTorch, NumPy, pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, scikit-learn, and ROS or ROS2.
• Experience training and adapting machine learning architectures for robot learning in manipulation, locomotion, or navigation.
• Ability to troubleshoot real robotic systems, provide technical leadership, prototype solutions, communicate complex ideas, and mentor junior engineers.

Nice to have

• PhD in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with sim-to-real manipulation, real-time perception-based control, tactile sensing, robot simulators, and robot learning frameworks.
• Experience combining model-based and data-driven approaches, working with Docker or cloud computing, and managing experiments and datasets.
• Knowledge of databases, distributed or asynchronous systems, concurrent programming, or LLM use in robotics.
