Senior Robotics Engineer (Perception)

Location: On-site in Carson, California, near the Los Angeles headquarters; travel to client locations is required as needed.

Base salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Develop algorithms, systems, and software architecture for high-degree-of-freedom robots in manufacturing environments.
• Build computer vision and perception algorithms for 3D reconstruction, segmentation, inspection, and multi-modal sensor fusion.
• Design and own active perception pipelines covering exploration, viewpoint planning, and coverage optimization.
• Develop production-ready, low-latency software using C++, Python, GPU programming, and hardware acceleration.
• Lead hardware–software integration, resolve complex stochastic issues, and support internal and external teams.
• Spend approximately 30% of the role supporting proofs of concept, factory acceptance tests, deployments, and on-site customer debugging.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a similar engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of industry experience developing and testing planning, learning, perception, or control algorithms.
• Production-level proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Strong experience with 3D geometry, point-cloud filtering, registration, segmentation, and 2D/3D sensor fusion.
• Experience with hardware vision sensors and multi-sensor calibration, synchronization, and integration.
• Strong ML/DL experience in image and point-cloud processing, including segmentation and defect detection.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a similar engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience deploying software systems in production.
• Experience owning full active perception pipelines and integrating them into robotic workflows.
