Co-op - Robot Perception (AI)

What you will do

• Research and experiment with traditional computer vision and deep learning methods for detection, classification, segmentation, pose estimation, and anomaly detection.
• Evaluate and benchmark computer vision methods using production data.
• Design datasets, preprocessing and postprocessing methods, and training pipelines.
• Develop and test SLAM, sensor fusion, state estimation, and multi-robot algorithms.
• Deploy and optimize software on robot hardware, and conduct simulations and experiments.
• Document designs, code, experiments, and evaluations, and present results internally and at academic venues.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++, including experience with Jupyter notebooks.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow and familiarity with OpenCV and computer vision techniques.
• Knowledge of robotics perception concepts including sensor fusion, SLAM, 3D pose representations, coordinate transforms, probabilistic graphical models, and Bayesian inference.
• Working knowledge of RGB cameras, 3D sensors, point clouds, Linux, and command-line tools.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure, REST APIs, and SQL-based tools such as Snowflake.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, ROS/ROS 2, Jetson, ONNX, VLMs, or Vision-Language-Action models.
• Publications at high-impact robotics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence conferences and journals.
