TL;DR
Communications Technician (COMSEC): Installing, operating, and maintaining line-of-sight, SATCOM, and RF communications equipment while supporting at-sea testing of unmanned systems for the US Navy with an accent on military communications, equipment repair, and COMSEC operations. Focus on troubleshooting complex wireless and satellite communication systems, working aboard boats and naval vessels, and maintaining secure communications in dynamic operational environments.
Location: San Diego, California, United States. Some travel and work on small and large boats may be required.
Salary: $75,000–$85,000 USD annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do
- Install and operate line-of-sight and SATCOM digital communications equipment.
- Operate, maintain, and repair RF and satellite communications equipment.
- Support at-sea testing of unmanned systems for the US Navy.
- Work with communications equipment aboard small and large boats in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a technician working with military communications equipment.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing RF equipment.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing satellite communications equipment.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Ability to work on small and large boats.
Nice to have
- Current Secret security clearance.
- RF wireless communication troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Experience working aboard Navy vessels as an EKMS and communications technician.
- Experience with unmanned systems.
