Antenna Engineer (Satellite Communications)

Location: Duluth, Georgia, United States

Salary: $120,500–$190,000 annually; $149,500–$224,500 annually for specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Develop innovative antenna designs for satellite communications systems.
• Design, analyze, model, and test antenna systems and components, including reflectors, arrays, waveguides, structures, and feeds.
• Run electromagnetic simulations, review antenna performance data, and troubleshoot hardware and test results.
• Collaborate with mechanical, RF, and systems engineers on product design, integration, and testing.
• Support technical design reviews, laboratory measurements, documentation, and delivery against cost and schedule targets.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of antenna design experience with satellite communications antenna systems; reflector and array experience is desired.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Proficiency with analytical and programming tools such as HFSS, TICRA, Mathcad, and MATLAB.
• Experience designing antennas for manufacturing and generating specifications for RF components and antenna feed networks.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience developing ground-based antenna systems for LEO, MEO, and GEO satellite access nodes.
• Experience developing space-based satellite antenna systems.
• Hands-on laboratory testing and system measurement experience.
• Experience supporting business development with design schedules and cost estimates.
• Experience with X, Ku, Ka, and Q/V-band optics, reflectors, phased arrays, and feeds.
