Sr. Analyst/Asst. Mgr Accounting (Cost Recovery Team)

Location: Fort Worth, TX, United States; hybrid arrangement with one remote workday per week. Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment. Travel is minimal, less than 10%.

Salary: $72,200–$104,000 annually, depending on experience and position level.

What you will do

• Research and analyze contracts, payables, receivables, and billing with railroads, government agencies, and other entities.
• Audit receivable and payable projects, including construction, train movement, and ancillary charges.
• Verify that billed costs are complete, accurate, supportable, and consistent with contractual terms.
• Identify billing issues, quantify root causes, and recommend improvements to controls, procedures, and systems.
• Present audit findings, impacts, root causes, and solutions to Finance and Operations management.
• Develop best practices for contract and invoice audits and reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of professional experience.
• Ability to work in the United States without employer assistance for employment authorization, including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN status.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with above-average Excel knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to review agreements comprehensively and analyze contract terms against actual performance and application.
• Active CPA certification and experience with SQL, SAP, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar analytical tools are listed as additional qualifications.

Nice to have

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related Operations field.
• Knowledge of disbursements, accounts payable, revenue, or accounts receivable processes.
• Previous audit, forensic accounting, or financial analysis experience.
