Sr. Scientist, Antibody Discovery and Engineering

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts; 100% onsite

Salary: $130,800–$209,400 per year, with potential bonus, incentive compensation, or equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead experimental protein and antibody engineering workstreams from library design through selection, characterization, optimization, and lead identification.
• Design and execute yeast surface display workflows, including library construction, FACS-based selection, affinity maturation, specificity optimization, and lead enrichment.
• Convert computational protein design hypotheses and structural or sequence predictions into experimentally testable constructs and libraries.
• Apply cloning, mutagenesis, expression, purification, format conversion, and characterization across IgG, Fab, scFv, VHH, bispecific, multispecific, and engager formats.
• Analyze display-selection, NGS, biochemical, biophysical, and functional data to identify structure-function relationships and nominate variants.
• Communicate experimental plans and recommendations, coordinate with internal and external collaborators, and mentor junior colleagues as appropriate.

Requirements

• PhD in protein engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, cancer biology, or a related discipline, plus 2+ years of relevant post-PhD industry experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with yeast surface display, including library design and construction, FACS screening or selection, affinity maturation, or specificity optimization.
• Strong molecular biology and protein engineering skills, including cloning, mutagenesis, sequence analysis, expression, purification, and analytical characterization.
• Experience collaborating with computational protein design, bioinformatics, structural biology, or antigen design teams.
• Experience analyzing sequence-rich display or screening datasets and using antibody characterization methods such as Biacore, Carterra, Octet, ELISA, MSD, or flow cytometry.
• Ability to work onsite in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Advanced yeast or mammalian display, deep sequencing, multiplexed selection, or high-throughput variant characterization experience.
• Experience with structure-guided, de novo, or AI/ML-enabled protein design and developability prediction.
• Experience engineering bispecific, multispecific, T-cell engager, TCR engager, ADC, CAR-T, or CAR-NK formats.
• Experience with immunization-based or B-cell antibody discovery, functional cell-based assays, or immune-cell biology.
• Scientific impact demonstrated through therapeutic programs, publications, patents, presentations, technology implementation, or mentorship.
