Quality Weld Inspector (1:00pm to 9:30pm) 2nd Shift (Welding and Fabrication)

Location: Onsite manufacturing floor; 2nd shift from 1:00pm to 9:30pm

Pay range: $28.50–$30.25 per hour plus shift differential

What you will do

• Perform pre-weld, in-process, final visual, and dimensional inspections of welded and fabricated products.
• Verify materials, fit-up, weld locations, weld sizes, dimensions, tolerances, and workmanship against drawings, BOMs, specifications, and WPS requirements.
• Identify weld defects and process deviations using weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, squares, tape measures, fixtures, and other calibrated equipment.
• Document, tag, segregate, and contain nonconforming materials and support NCR/NCMR processing.
• Verify rework and repairs, complete inspection records, and support product release.
• Collaborate with production, welding engineering, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering on corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous quality inspection experience in welding, metal fabrication, machining, or manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, tolerances, welding symbols, and Welding Procedure Specifications.
• Working knowledge of welding and fabrication processes, with experience using dimensional and weld inspection equipment.
• Ability to document inspection results and nonconformances accurately, communicate effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice to have

• Experience inspecting MIG, TIG, and other welding processes.
• AWS and/or ASME welding knowledge.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification or equivalent training.
• Visual Testing and other NDT experience, including PT, MT, or UT.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, Lean Manufacturing, or World-Class Manufacturing practices.
