Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (Waste-to-Energy): Maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment across a waste-to-energy power plant with an accent on high-voltage systems, boilers, emissions monitoring, and distributed control systems. Focus on troubleshooting complex plant equipment, performing calibration and preventive maintenance, and supporting scheduled and unscheduled outages.
Location: Niagara Falls, New York, United States; on-site power plant role
Salary: $33.22–$44.18 per hour

What you will do
- Maintain, test, diagnose, and repair low-, medium-, and high-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, transformers, generators, and motor control centers.
- Maintain electrical systems for waste-to-energy boilers, pumps, fans, motors, conveyors, refuse cranes, and air pollution control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair CEMS equipment and flow, pressure, temperature, level, and flue gas instrumentation.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair distributed control systems, historian devices, PLC-related equipment, and field controllers.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including calibration, thermography, ultrasonic testing, and maintenance record completion.
- Support plant shutdowns, equipment inspections, outage work, housekeeping, safety compliance, and required training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with motor starters, PLCs, and high-power electrical systems.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, wear a full-face respirator, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work an 8- or 10-hour Monday–Friday schedule after training, with rotating on-call coverage and additional outage-related hours.
