Описание вакансии
Текст:
TL;DR
Senior Propulsion Engineer (Fluids) (Aerospace): Designing and qualifying pressurized propellant feed systems for satellite propulsion modules with an accent on fluid architecture, component selection, routing, and safety compliance. Focus on analyzing flow and pressure behavior, executing leak/proof/burst testing, and carrying flight hardware through qualification, manufacturing, range safety, and launch.
Location: Los Angeles, California, USA; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office.
Company
develops and manufactures satellite buses at scale using software, vertical integration, and hardware designed for manufacturing.
What you will do
- Own the architecture, component selection, schematics, and routing of propellant feed systems for spacecraft propulsion modules.
- Design pressurized fluid systems to MEOP, proof, and burst requirements, including tubing, fittings, welds, brazes, and launch-environment constraints.
- Perform flow, pressure-drop, transient, blowdown, filtration, and thermal-fluid analyses.
- Define and execute leak, proof, burst, functional, and acceptance test campaigns, including procedures and ground-support-equipment requirements.
- Own range-safety, pressure-systems compliance, fracture control, hazard analyses, and flight approvals.
- Partner with propulsion, manufacturing, integration, test, and launch teams to improve producibility, cleanliness, qualification, and anomaly resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, chemical, or a related engineering field.
- 6+ years of fluid-systems engineering experience with substantial hands-on work on pressurized fluid or propellant feed systems.
- Deep knowledge of pressurized fluid-system design, component selection, routing, joints, and MEOP/proof/burst factors of safety.
- Experience with fluid-system testing, range-safety and pressure-systems requirements, fracture control, hazardous operations, and vehicle ICDs.
- Demonstrated experience taking fluidic flight hardware through qualification and into space.
- Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under ITAR.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a related engineering field.
- Experience with electric and chemical propulsion feed systems, COPVs, and serial production.
- Experience with hazardous-operations procedures, range approvals, precision cleaning, contamination control, propellant compatibility, and fluid GSE.
Culture & Benefits
- Fast-growing startup with more than $500M in funding and equity participation.
- 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents, plus life insurance.
- Paid vacation, paid holidays, parental leave, and childcare reimbursement for work-related travel.
