Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer (Spacecraft)

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop circuit boards for spacecraft, including analog, digital, and control electronics.
• Perform analysis and simulations of avionics devices and systems.
• Own hardware from board bring-up and laboratory debugging through qualification and flight operations.
• Define hardware interfaces and verify system requirements.
• Establish and maintain high technical standards for avionics hardware.
• Partner with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with electronic component selection, analysis, simulation, schematics, and layout.
• 5+ years of experience in mixed-signal and analog circuit design, including converters, op-amps, filtering, and signal integrity.
• 3+ years of hands-on board-level electronics troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain design rationale, and resolve concerns.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with Altium Designer.
• 5+ years of new development experience with power converters, load switches, engine controllers, processors, or other spacecraft- or rocket-relevant electronics.
• Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
