Early Careers - Actuarial Intern

Location: Hybrid in Chicago, IL or Richardson, TX; unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Base pay: $18.46–$37.84 per hour.

What you will do

• Support actuarial modeling, data gathering, analysis, database design, and internal and external reporting.
• Contribute to projects involving provider payments and discounts, forecasting models, reserve models, and yearly financial statements.
• Own project components and deliverables with guidance from a mentor and manager.
• Research data and develop recommendations that inform business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support initiatives improving business and member outcomes.
• Present the internship project, results, and recommendations to department leadership.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree as a rising senior, with graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Major in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, computer science, economics, or another relevant field.
• Completion of or plans to complete one ASA exam by graduation.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 and availability for the full 10-week program.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Practical experience with Excel, SQL, VBA, Microsoft Office, and virtual collaboration tools.
