Mechanical Engineer I

Location: Zeeland, Michigan, United States; on-site. Local customer-site travel is essential, with occasional domestic travel. Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States without restrictions or expirations.

What you will do

• Design automation equipment and sellable industrial equipment for customer projects.
• Design, prototype, test, and document mechanical designs for new product development.
• Support equipment troubleshooting, improvements, and technical decision-making.
• Engage with customers and vendors on-site and lead design reviews.
• Estimate technical tasks, timelines, and project scope for customer engagements.
• Improve internal engineering tools, processes, and best practices while mentoring entry-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant engineering and design experience.
• Experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, NX, or Inventor.
• Experience developing complex conceptual designs and working with systems and subsystems.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and customer collaboration skills.
• Current and continuing unrestricted right to work in the United States is required.
