Staff Healthcare Analyst (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Build patient stratification, utilization-risk, hospitalization-risk, and acuity models.
• Own risk adjustment methodology and analyze medical and pharmacy claims data.
• Lead cost-of-care, ROI, cost-offset, and value-based care analyses for health plans and government partners.
• Design clinical outcomes studies and develop evidence through case studies, publications, and conference presentations.
• Define shared clinical and financial metrics, data models, dashboards, and measurement frameworks with Clinical, Finance, Engineering, Health Plan, and Product teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, clinical analytics, HEOR, actuarial analytics, biostatistics, or population health.
• Advanced SQL and strong proficiency in Python or R, including statistical and predictive or risk modeling.
• Hands-on experience with medical and pharmacy claims data and code sets such as ICD-10, CPT, and NDC.
• Experience working with health plans, payors, or actuaries and discussing methodologies and contract structures.
• Experience designing and executing health outcomes studies, including peer-reviewed publications or industry conference presentations.
• Knowledge of risk adjustment, value-based care economics, clinical quality measurement, dbt, Git, cloud data warehouses, and BI platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience in value-based care, population health, risk-bearing healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, or dual-eligible populations.
• Background in causal inference, survival analysis, predictive clinical or financial risk modeling, prior authorization, revenue cycle, or patient lifecycle data.
• Familiarity with AI or agentic clinical system data requirements.
