Data Scientist (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid

Salary: $185,000–$260,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and maintain production-grade models and dashboards across multiple business functions.
• Define and instrument metrics for capacity, availability, ROI, product adoption, revenue, and costs.
• Ingest and transform raw data using dbt, Airbyte, and Databricks.
• Partner with Engineering, Finance, Marketing, and Sales to translate business goals into data solutions.
• Analyze product, operational, and commercial data to identify opportunities and inform product and go-to-market priorities.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and nontechnical stakeholders, including company leaders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries for data transformation and analysis.
• Experience designing medallion data architectures with raw, conformed, and business-ready models, testing, documentation, and lineage.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross-functional work.
• Ability to explain complex analyses and make clear recommendations to technical and business audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI infrastructure, developer platforms, or inference.
• Forecasting expertise with ARIMA, Prophet, or comparable time-series methods, including backtesting, error analysis, and scenario planning.
• Knowledge of model-serving and training workflows and infrastructure metrics affecting performance and cost.
• Experience with experimentation, including test design, power analysis, and evaluating directional evidence.
