Workers Compensation Associate Claim Representative

Location: Rancho Cordova, California, United States; the role includes onsite file reviews.

Annual base salary: $52,600–$86,800.

What you will do

• Complete structured virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training in insurance policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Review, investigate, document, and evaluate workers compensation claims under close supervision.
• Assess coverage, compensability, exposure, claim resolution plans, and potential fraud.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, medical providers, and legal counsel, and communicate claim status.
• Maintain accurate claim records, participate in telephonic and onsite file reviews, and learn to coordinate medical treatment and return-to-work outcomes.
• Obtain and maintain relevant insurance licenses within three months of starting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and previous customer service or insurance experience are preferred qualifications.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with willingness to learn claims management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, organization, attention to detail, customer service, and basic conflict-resolution skills.
