Lead Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $111,200–$190,300 per year, plus discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable cloud-native platforms for complex workflows, data-intensive applications, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Lead architecture, engineering design, code quality, testing, deployment, observability, and operational readiness.
• Design distributed systems, APIs, microservices, event-driven workflows, data pipelines, and integration patterns.
• Build governed, configuration-driven platforms with versioning, auditability, provenance, lineage, and traceable outputs.
• Support AI solutions using RAG, GraphRAG, vector retrieval, knowledge graphs, model serving, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Coach engineers, resolve complex technical issues, and contribute to platform modernization and technology strategy.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or architectural capacity.
• Experience managing teams and delivering solutions in complex or regulated environments.
• Strong proficiency in modern languages and frameworks including Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Rust.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, API design, AWS or GCP, CI/CD, containerization, automated testing, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Experience with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or Kinesis, as well as RAG/GraphRAG pipelines, vector databases, model serving, orchestration tools, and knowledge graphs.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
