Sr. Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $112,100–$204,000 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable software solutions for payment product platforms.
• Build and integrate generative AI, conversational AI, and retrieval-augmented generation capabilities.
• Prepare data, evaluate and deploy models, monitor performance, and continuously improve AI systems.
• Design APIs and integration patterns connecting payment applications, platforms, AI services, and enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations and Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Client Support, Product Development, Test, DevOps, and Agile/Scrum teams.
• Automate development, testing, deployment, and maintenance while supporting incident management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Expert-level skills in Java, Python, and Node.js.
• Experience building generative AI applications, conversational AI solutions, and RAG architectures.
• Experience integrating AI components into enterprise systems and addressing robustness, security, reliability, and responsible-use requirements.
• Knowledge of APIs, distributed systems, application security, CI/CD, version control, and model deployment practices.
• Must work from the Foster City office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with C++ or C#, React, Angular, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Knowledge of NLP, machine learning, deep learning, MLOps, stream computing, and large-scale data processing.
• Experience with Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Redis, OAuth 2.0, SSO, cryptography, and enterprise security.
• Experience in the payments technology industry.
