Attorney – Contract Review & Data Privacy

Location: Lansing, Michigan, United States. Hybrid work-from-home flexibility may be available after initial in-person training, subject to job responsibilities and leadership approval. Must be able to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

What you will do

• Draft, review, and revise vendor contracts to ensure appropriate legal, cybersecurity, data privacy, confidentiality, and liability protections.
• Work with business unit contract owners to align vendor delivery and application processes with industry best practices.
• Assist with cybersecurity incident response and data privacy compliance matters.
• Support responses to consumer privacy requests and inquiries.
• Prepare training materials and deliver presentations.
• Provide legal advice on general corporate matters and negotiate key contract provisions with vendors and business partners.

Requirements

• Law degree from an accredited J.D. program and a license to practice law.
• Knowledge of privacy and cybersecurity laws, personal information, data breaches, intellectual property indemnification, data protection provisions, HIPAA, cloud-based servers, and general liability principles.
• Strong technology skills and experience using contract lifecycle management systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, writing, drafting, negotiation, and oral argument skills.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
